Program FAQs

Everything you need to know about studying at KCGI through Maupal.

No! KCGI programs are taught entirely in English, so no prior Japanese language knowledge is required for admission. We do provide basic Japanese language preparation as part of our pre-departure package to help you settle in comfortably.

JASSO (Japan Student Services Organization) is a government-backed scholarship worth approximately ¥48,000/month. Eligibility is based on your academic record, motivation, and financial background. Maupal has successfully secured JASSO scholarships for students in every intake — we know exactly what it takes.

Typically 4–6 months from initial consultation to departure. This includes document preparation (4–6 weeks), university application (4–8 weeks), COE processing (4–8 weeks), and visa stamping (1–2 weeks). We plan your timeline carefully to meet KCGI's intake deadlines.

Tuition at KCGI is approximately ¥950,000–¥1,100,000 per year (roughly NPR 9–11 lakh). With the JASSO scholarship, tuition can be significantly offset. Living expenses in Kyoto average ¥70,000–¥100,000/month. We provide a detailed cost breakdown during your free consultation.

Core documents: Bachelor's degree certificate and transcripts, valid passport, English proficiency score (IELTS/TOEFL or equivalent), CV/Resume, and a passport-size photo. Additional documents like SOP, recommendation letters, and financial statements — we help you prepare from scratch.

Yes! International students in Japan are permitted to work up to 28 hours per week during term and full-time during holidays. Many KCGI students work part-time in IT, hospitality, or retail to cover living expenses. We guide you through obtaining the necessary work authorization.
